Sir,

With reference to your letter No. 82874/31 of the

30th March, 1932, transmitting a copy of correspondence

with the Officers (Merchant Navy) Federation, the

Honourable Company of Master Mariners, and the Governor of

Hong Kong, regarding a penalty inflicted upon Captain

T. Pritchard of the s.s. "Sui Tai" by the Marine Magistrate,

at Hong Kong in July, 1931, I am directed by the Board of Trade to state, for the information of Secretary

Sir Phillip Cunliffe-Lister, that they have received representations from the China Coast Officers' Guild regarding this matter, and to enclose a copy of their correspondence with the Guild. It is understood that similar representations have been made by the Guild to the Admiralty.
